Medal of Honor for SFC Smith
I was hoping he'd get it. Article here (ht: Blackfive). 22 months between the incident and the award seems like kind of a long time for such an obvious hero. Hopefully it won't be too long until Sgt Peralta and LCpl Dunham are likewise recognized.
It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
-Gen Patton
Fucking outstanding Americans. Rest in peace.
Update: 1st Sgt Kasal has been recommended for CMOH, too. Fortunately he survived his wounds. (HT: Powerline)
